Meet the Speaker

Winifred Gladin DeSimone

Winifred Gladin DeSimone is a homeschooling mother to 2 girls in Washington, DC. For the last 10 years she has lived in small, urban spaces and has always tried to balance aesthetics with function and sustainability. She believes in designing a home you love with an eye on the environment, and loves using old, repurposed and vintage materials to create a beautiful, welcoming home. She and her husband are currently restoring their 93-year-old Petworth rowhome. Winifred has an MA in Philosophy from the University of Navarre in Pamplona, Spain; she wrote her thesis on aesthetics and medieval philosophy.
